I’ve worked in digitization since 2021—originally collaborating with the General Archives of Puerto Rico to help preserve the massive collection of historical documents within its walls. I began behind the camera as a digitization specialist, capturing a total of 150,000 images and 2,500 items within two years, and eventually stepping into the role of digitization team lead. Currently, I am collaborating with the Puerto Rico Tourism Company and Museum of Art of Puerto Rico to digitize the available collection of the wildly popular tourism magazines ¿Qué Pasa?, which were in circulation from 1948 to 2017. I am a firm believer that remembering and preserving the past is key to stepping into a better and more informed future, and digitization is the best way to make our history accessible to everyone.
